Proven solutions will help water, gas and heat meter manufacturers speed time to market
Ams AG and Shenzhen Odithc jointly launched a turnkey solution for industrial and commercial ultrasonic flowmeters. The industrial and commercial ultrasonic flowmeter solution is based on ISE Semiconductor's latest Ultrasonic Flow Metering Converter (UFC) product, TDC-GP30YA, and patented technology from the Odithc team. The company is committed to providing flowmeter manufacturers with a complete system-level solution that is easy to use, high performance and can quickly bring their products to market.
The TDC-GP30YA uses Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) technology, which is the result of more than 20 years of research and development of Amers Semiconductor's professional sensor business line. Amers Semiconductor's TDC unit provides high resolution up to 11 ps and includes an ultra-low power 32-bit microprocessor and a task sequencer that controls each internal function block. At 2 Hz, the device consumes only 4 μA.
The Odico team has extensive experience in hardware, software, and system design, and has nearly 10 years of expertise focused on ultrasonic flow measurement technology. By intelligently matching algorithms to compensate for differences in mechanical, acoustic, flow distribution, and electronic characteristics of flowmeter designs, Odico can help users install simple, complete, cost-optimized and superior ultrasonic flow metering systems.
Chen Ruozhong, Vice President of Almes Semiconductor Greater China, said: "We are very excited to cooperate with Audi to launch a turnkey solution that will bring huge benefits to the Chinese market. Audico's support in design and technology will also help us. Chinese customers have access to Amers Semiconductor's latest ultrasonic flow measurement technology for heat, water flow and airflow measurement, and accelerate time-to-market for their products."
Oliver Yang, Chief Technology Officer of Shenzhen Aodico Electronics Co., Ltd. said: "We are very pleased to provide turnkey solutions based on Amers's ultrasonic flow converters. As a market leader, Amers Semiconductor's converters consume energy. Excellent performance in terms of measurement accuracy and stability. We will strongly recommend this turnkey solution to our customers as it is superior to other solutions on the market and will drive the long-term development of the industry."
As part of a joint development of turnkey solutions, Amers Semiconductor has teamed up with Odico to test the new ultrasonic flowmeter solution in a joint laboratory in Baoan District, Shenzhen, which meets relevant Chinese national standards. More tests will be launched in Germany in the next three months. With strong technical support, Odico plans to begin selling the turnkey solution in the second quarter of 2018.
