China's All Things Connected Enters an Era of Technological Success

In the past five years, Chinese Internet companies have become the first camp in the world. The Internet industry has moved from commercial innovation to commercial and technological two-wheel drive innovation, and has promoted China's leap from an Internet powerhouse to an Internet powerhouse.

This is the conclusion given by the report of “Five Years of Leap in Innovation: The Interpretation of China’s Internet by Top 10 Keywords” recently published by Alibaba Research Institute.

Gao Hongbing, vice president of Alibaba Group and Dean of the Ali Research Institute, told the reporter of the Science and Technology Daily: “In the five years of the rapid development of China’s digital economy, the Internet has also subtly changed the consumption patterns and lifestyle of Chinese consumers. It is a country on the 'cars' and China is a country on the 'mobile Internet.' The lives of the Chinese are moving to the digital continent."

The traditional Internet giants such as Alibaba, Baidu, and Tencent, as well as the new forces that have appeared intensively over the past five years, such as Didi, Mobai, and shared bicycles, have increased the influence of the Chinese internet industry on a global scale.

From street-side markets to large-scale shopping malls, small scanning technologies and mobile payment methods represented by Alipay have accelerated scene coverage under the lines, and Chinese-style innovations such as shared bicycles have gained critical support and explosive vitality, and accelerated the change in China. Internet industry's long-term "imitation" and lack of innovative image.

Gao Hongbing said: “Five years ago, China’s cloud computing has just started. Our role is to use technology. Today, China’s public cloud service market accounts for the top four are all Chinese companies. We have become the original creators of technology.”

According to the latest data from consultancy Gartner, Alibaba Cloud has surpassed Google in 2016 to become the fastest growing IaaS service provider in the world.

"The rapid growth of Alibaba Cloud is mainly due to the rapid iteration of commercial innovation and technology." Gao Hongbing said, "In the case of Alibaba's Double 11 scenario, the peak value of 175,000 transactions per second made traditional IT technology unsatisfactory, allowing Alibaba We have to conduct a full range of independent research and development from the underlying operating systems, middleware, databases, security and other fields."

Gao Hongbing said that China and the United States still have some gaps in the initial formation of the Internet-China-U.S. alliance. However, China’s Internet has long since escaped the “business model” to win. Gao Hongbing particularly emphasized: "Our accumulation in basic technologies and research areas will focus on the outbreak in the next 5-10 years."
