Google launches application to accelerate VR/AR experience development

This is a brand new home, your tilt brush and a masterpiece of brick.

If you are one of the creators of Tilt brushes and bricks, you may find that Google shows you two different galleries designed for you: sketches and objects.

But now, Google has announced an application that aims to accelerate the development of the VR/AR experience by integrating a tilt brush and a block display platform.

For Poly, our mission is to organize 3D information around the world, making it universally accessible and useful information.

In integrating these two ecosystems, Poly can make it easier for 3D content creators to discover. In addition, as with previous galleries, Poly allows you to reassemble your downloaded model with tilt brushes and bricks - once you publish your work, it will automatically create a credit line back to the original 3D model.

You can also upload your own work for use by other developers in your own VR and AR content.

You don't need to be a developer to use Poly, you don't even need to be a VR content creator. Anyone can use a mobile device or desktop computer to browse 3D models and interact with each model by rotating them in all directions, or zooming in and out of your objects with your finger or mouse.

In addition, users anywhere can use AR to bring these objects into the real world.

In addition, you can also use the gamepad mode through a mobile browser, allowing you to control 3D objects with your thumb just as if you were playing a handheld game console game.

Considering the development of VR and AR technology, Google recognizes that it is necessary to have ready-made available resources that you can easily acquire and add to your VR and AR experience.

“One of the biggest obstacles is achieving high-performance, high-quality, consistent goals,” said Jason Toff, a Google Group project manager at Poly Group, in an interview with VRScout. "We introduced Poly to make it easier for developers to find these things."

Jeff Smith is a former high-level artist with 11 years of experience and is currently a game art instructor at the University of Post. He said that this new tool will be particularly conducive to the creation of new VR content.

Smith said: "As a developer, I think that in the absence of budget, Poly is a good way for VR/ar startups to gain a foothold in the game and start showing. Technology that can be used in these new modes."

Toff shares his hope that Poly will promote AR and VR content creation.

Toff said: "We hope it will lower the threshold for development." "So it increases the number of developers, which increases the number of experiences, thereby accelerating the application of AR / VR technology."
