Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of a new TMS320DM368 video processor, further enriching its DM36x DaVinci series of portable encoding solutions that support full HD 1080pH.264 encoding. DM368 is ideal for many video applications such as high-definition video cameras, real-time digital video cameras (DVRs), high-definition video communication systems, and digital signage. In addition to supporting higher video resolutions, customers can also achieve an ARM performance improvement of more than 40%, which can provide advanced application programming interfaces (APIs) for high-definition video processing and advanced user experience.

DM368 supports multi-format high-definition video, including VC1, MPEG2, MPEG4, MJPEG and H.264, etc., and supports the 1080p standard with a maximum of 30 frames per second encoding. In addition, the device not only supports multi-format decoding, multi-rate multi-stream and high-definition multi-channel functions, but also provides audio, voice and other high-definition video codecs, which can achieve higher flexibility and lower design complexity.
