Qualcomm lost both HTC and Sony Ericsson’s exclusive chip franchise within one year.
In addition, Microsoft and Nokia have previously announced that they will use ST-Ericsson to replace Qualcomm’s production of chips for their Windows Phone handsets, which signals the end of Qualcomm’s monopoly.
It is reported that Samsung Electronics, Motorola and LG have also used Tegra3 chips on their mobile phones, and Asustek has sold the first tablet based on this chip.
Nvidia says that Tegra3's graphics performance is nearly three times better than its predecessor, thanks to its 12 GPU cores, while Tegra3's power consumption is less than two-thirds that of Tegra2.
