The main way to send western energy is the UHV transmission line. Liu Zhenya said that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, China will invest more than 500 billion yuan to build a "three vertical and three horizontal" UHV AC backbone grid and 11 UHV DC transmission projects.
At that time, wind power and coal power in Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi and Hebei will be sent to North China, Central China, and East China through three vertical UHV channels; coal and electricity in the north and hydropower in the southwest will be sent to North China and Central China through three horizontal UHV channels.
