Holiday travel does not have a clue, to see how robots help you plan?

: When we are exploring a new city, who can help us book a hotel or recommend a delicious dinner? A robot can help us do this.

假期旅行没头绪,看看机器人如何帮你规划?

In fact, there are now a variety of chat bots that can provide services such as weather updates, health advice, etc., as artificial intelligence-driven smart phone communications applications are becoming more popular.

According to the statistics of eMarketer, a digital data research institute, about 1.6 billion people use mobile communication applications in 2016 and will reach 2 billion people in 2018, accounting for 80% of all smartphone users.

In April of last year, Facebook announced that it will open up its Messenger app to any outside company that wants to add robots to chat programs. This is another indication of the growing influence of mobile communications applications.

There are also some booking services such as Expedia, Kayak, Skyscanner, etc. that allow customers to consult hotel rooms and flight information via Facebook Messenger.

In recent months, several other travel-related robots have emerged, offering services such as booking and action reminders. However, this technology is not yet mature, and although most chatbots have not become an alternative to existing travel plans such as travel advisors and traditional guides, it is only a matter of time before we can implement reservation services via smart phone text messages.

Here are three more interesting options that must be provided for everyone:

SnapTravel

The goal of SnapTravel is to find the right hotel for you based on your budget and preferences via SMS (Site Service), Facebook Messenger or Slack. The company uses a combination of human and artificial intelligence to search Expedia, Priceline, and more than 100 other sites, gaining a reputation for the best hotels, giving feedback to users and keeping them confidential.

The robot will first ask your travel city and date, whether you have a specific hotel brand, and whether you have any community preferences in the city.

On Thanksgiving, I wanted to book a hotel for a few nights at my home in Binghamton, New York. I sent a text to SnapTravel. Based on my choice of intentions, SnapTravel recommended three three-star hotels in the area for me.

After getting answers to a series of questions about my budget, brand preferences, etc., I was told to wait a minute and get a text message from the recommended hotel within an hour.

Seven minutes later, I received four best choices that it selected for me, including hotel photos and website links, and provided many details and other booking items, and provided me with a detailed map of the area. I also asked if I would like to contact one of the travel agencies (these travel agencies can provide me with some personalized services).

The entire process from start to finish took 16 minutes. This process is more like an automatic telephone call with a cable company than a typical text conversation. I thanked the robot and was glad that it did not bother me later. This is what I am most looking forward to.

Hotel recommendation information is like a hodgepodge. I told this robot that I prefer the Marriott Hotel, which provided Courtyard Marriott at a price that was within my budget. One of the other three hotels it recommends offers bed and breakfast, one at a local resort and one at the Hilton. But there is also a Marriott hotel is also a good choice. At the same time, there are only two hotels that are more conveniently located.

In terms of the transaction itself, with Hotwire. Compared to the price on a discount booking website such as com, these transactions also seem to be legal. When you click on the hotel's link on SnapTravel, you will know its check-in price and be informed if there is a cancellation fee, and there is the opportunity to compare the hotel's price with other booking sites.

Although it won't give you detailed information about your shopping address, SnapTravel's main job is what it claims it can do, and its response is timely.
