On October 19, 2010, the LED tunnel light project of Qingdao Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel (including Qingdao terminal wiring project) was officially opened. Guangdong Zhonglong Transportation Technology Co., Ltd. stood out among the 12 bidders and became the winning bidder of the project.
Qingdao Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel Project is an important channel connecting Qingdao's main city and auxiliary city. It is connected to Xuejia Island in the south and to the group island in the north. The Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel is a city expressway tunnel with two-way double-hole and six-lane roads with a designed speed of 80km/h and a service tunnel in the middle. The total length of the tunnel is about 7.8km (including the Qingdao terminal connection project), of which the project spans about 3.95km. The whole line is illuminated by LED tunnel lights. The number of lamps used is about 6,500 sets. It is the largest project of LED lighting in single tunnels worldwide. It is also the world's largest single tunnel with LED tunnel lighting. It is second only to Shanghai Yangtze River. The construction of the tunnel (the tunnel is 8.9 km long).
Guangdong Zhonglong Transportation Technology Co., Ltd. won the bid for the lighting project of Qingdao Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel after winning the bid for the LED Tunnel Light Project of Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel in 2009, which indicates that the technology and quality of Zhonglong LED Tunnel Lighting has been further recognized by customers.
