According to the data released by the Bureau of Operational Supervision and Coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the import and export of electronic information products in China continued to grow steadily in the first half of this year. Except that the export growth rate in May was slightly lower, the exports in other months maintained double-digit growth. By the end of June, the total import and export of electronic information products nationwide reached US$525.4 billion, an increase of 15.6% year-on-year; of this, exports were US$303.5 billion, up 15.8% year-on-year; imports were US$221.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%.

In the first half of the year, the export volume of electronic components, electronic devices, and electronic materials industries reached 40.7 billion U.S. dollars, 37.3 billion U.S. dollars, and 3.4 billion U.S. dollars, respectively, which represented an increase of 15.7%, 26.1%, and 32.5% year-on-year. In contrast, the export of the whole machine industry was relatively sluggish, especially in the home appliance and computer industries. The export value was 44.1 billion U.S. dollars and 103.7 billion U.S. dollars, respectively, an increase of 11.0% and 5.2% year-on-year, and the growth rate was lower than the industry average of 4.8 and 10.6 percentage points. The export of communication equipment industry was outstanding. The export value was 57.1 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 35.7% year-on-year.
In terms of regions, the export of electronic information products in some provinces, cities and regions in the central and western regions maintained a relatively high growth rate. In the first half of the year, the export growth rates of Chongqing, Sichuan, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang were outstanding.
